Why I Founded Helping Hand
With over ten years’ experience in behaviour leadership, pastoral care, inclusive education, and safeguarding, I work closely with pupils whose emotional, behavioural, and neurodivergent needs are becoming increasingly complex.
What I see repeatedly is a gap in support. Many pupils need more than classroom strategies, but are not yet accessing specialist services. Schools are doing everything they can, yet capacity is stretched and support often comes too late.
Alongside my professional background, I am also the parent of a neurodivergent child. This lived experience has reinforced how vital early, consistent, and emotionally informed support is — and how powerful it can be when children feel understood and supported.
Helping Hand was created to sit in this middle space, offering targeted, relationship-based behaviour and wellbeing support that complements existing school provision. Our focus is on emotional regulation, engagement, and confidence, delivered with strong safeguarding and care.
This service exists to strengthen what schools already do — providing the right support at the right time, before escalation occurs.
